The Green Door is one of my three top destinations when I’m out riding the Harley in Washington County. There has been many a night I just grabbed a room and stayed over as I was having SO MUCH FUN.
Located in the thriving unincorporated area of Washington County called Greenvine, population 35, you will find The Green Door. Greenvine is actually located at the intersection of FM 2502 and Greenvine Road. The Green Door is the kind of local place you see in movies. I was fortunate enough to find the Green Door and meet Jerry about six years ago. Jerry bought the place a while back after retiring from being a Lineman with Blue Bonnet Electric. He also still runs the family farm and raises pigs.
The Green Door is rich in history, very cold and cheap beer, and lots of friendly people. Jerry opens at 3 every day except Wednesday. Occasionally, he closes if there is a wedding or party in the area. You can drink a beer, have a nice conversation, watch some TV, play dominos and sit out back in listen to bands on occasion. If you go once, you will go back. Take a ride out to Washington County and enjoy some time meeting Jerry and the others in Greenvine.
